Review last weeks fundraiser

Last week we had our fund raiser these are what went well.

Good

•  Our table was well presented
• We sold alot of fruit
• Table was in a good location
• We made a good profit
• We also had a good variety of fruits
• All of us ccontributed well
• We had competition which made us work harder
• Respectful to every one around us and towards other members of the group
• All of the group was friendly while also cheerful we all had a good time
• When some one said no we would persuade them to buy our fruit
• We all world well within the group
• This was a good experience for all of us.

Now for the bad things that didn't go so well..

Bad

• We didn't buy enough fruit the first time
• We bought to many apples
• The bags we bought were to big
• The bags were also expensive

Todays group meeting eight was held on 24/04/2012
Todays meeting we started to finish of our posters and healthy living surveys and get a few signed.

Chris Farrington asked Omair to start the posters that allocated to him as he was off on the 17 and print of some more posters which he started but didn't finish them only managed to print of the surveys

At the group meeting seven Chris Farrington,Chris Connor and Luqmen Ahmed attended and the group leader Chris asked Luqman to do the surveys which he did an error on which we never noticed until we started handing out and some one crossed out are and put our there.

Chris Farrington created a poster about smoking,Drinking. drugs and solvent abuse. Also while walking around handing out the survey with Chris Connor and Luqmen they all put there effort in to handing out the surveys and getting they ticked of by random students and staff

Meeting with Marketing held on 27/3/2012

Today Chris Farrington the group leader went to go speak with marketing within the college about promoting our event for the begining of May.

Today Chris went to go meet Christina Jelic from the marketing department in college house building at 1:30 and they discussed about what they are promote which is healthy living and charity to get equipment for disabled people at the Otley sailing club. Chris started of by asking could he get a PowerPoint presentation up on the college plasma screens which he could so that will have to get finished soon so it can get upload and get displayed as soon as possible.

He asked can he put up A4 posters that he made around the college and where can he put them which they said any where there is a bulletin board and not to put them on windows or doors as they will be taken down and we won't be aloud to put any more up.

He also asked about using socail media ways like using Facebook and Twitter and newsletters or mass emails which was replied by they will post it on Facebook and Twitter for us and post it in the Staff news letter they can't do the mass emails as it goes to all the colleges in Leeds which we are only wanting to promote for Park Lane campus.

Also asked about leaflets and they said  that he would have to go to Student Liaison officer and they would help me to do that.

And while in the meeting they said that I could talk to the students reps and get them to promote it and hand out some leaflets maybe and some information about what I'm promoting and why I'm promoting.

Todays meeting we was missing half of our members, Omair Sajid and Chris Connor,

Today it was just Chris Farrington and Luqman Ahmed they was left to do main thing which we needed the group for. Today we had to chose where we would like to go for our end of year trip Luqman was still on the idea of Alton towers but as the team leader I had to explain that it would cost to much to go plus the travel costs aswell.

Chris Farrington still wanted to go to The Deep in Hull which is cheap and easy to travel. After some debating with Luqman I changed my mind to go to Otley sailing club which is free and we will only have to pay for the travel and donate half the money to the charity and the rest for a barbecue and we can get special food for Muslims and vegetarian's which will make it fair for every body that is there. Also created a consent form for the under 18's

Luqman Ahmed still wanted to go to Alton towers and he called a group meeting which there was only him and the team leader Chris Farrington and he tryed to fight his point accross why we should go to Alton towers but in the end it still costs to much to go they Chris convinced him to go to Otley sailing club which he liked the ideas of going on the boats and having a barbecue

I think the next course of action for the group next week shall be to get the Team Leader Chris Farrington to talk to the marketing within the college and the porters to see if we can book a slot and get a table placed within the lobby; Get Luqman Ahmed to finish the posters that we will post around the college and the top floor to advertise our Fruit fund raising event that will be happening on 17th April. Omair Sajid will be finishing his surveys to pass around with Chris Connor to see which fruits people like and which they don't and if they would buy some.

Group meeting Five was held on 20/3/2012

Today as a group we had to decide what we our going to for our fund raising.

Immediately as a group we where coming up with idea not the best idea some where about healthy living and some weren’t.
Chris Farrington the group leader decided that it would be a good to sell fruit in the college lobby and to the staff members and in the lobby have a teddy bear with the guess the name game; When the it's over the winner will win the teddy bear and a basket full of fruit. Chris also decided what day we will go and said he will talk to the porters and the marketing people

Luqmen Amhed was taking the notes for the group while also putting a few ideas in he had the idea of sell fruit cartons and some fruit which the group didn't like as it wasn't fresh he was on about like Fruit Juice not fresh juice. He also agreed to go with Chris Farrington's idea with the bear which was a good idea. Also Luqman made the posters with email and descriptions how to order some fruit.


Chris Connor decided to go with the idea with the guess the bears name as both Chris's decided this in there own time. Also Chris said he will join Chris in coming in early in the morning to talk to the porters with him.

Omair Sajid Was being quite silly today with his ideas he came out with some stupid ideas about selling some drugs like bud (weed) and crack cocaine which I told him was immature and silly but he goes it's the best way to make some money. He also said "We probably won't go on the trip so why not take some of the cash for our self’s" He came up with the idea of a dance event but none us can dance and to do a Sports relief day which it won't be on sports relief day.

Main point today is that we decided where we are going and what will do for fund raising

Group meeting Four held on 03/3/2012

Today as a group we had a meeting about the fund raising and where we would be going.

Chris Farrington the group leader once again put forward going to The Deep and Chris Connor decided that is still a good Idea. He explained his reasons why and the costs/travel costs by train or via bus.

Chris Connor liked the idea of going to The Deep so they both wanted to go there. Both Omair and Luqman wanted to go to Alton towers which Omair was being silly about making games on how to choose which one we will go on and getting annoyed because he could not convince the Chris's both of them explained the how much cheaper it would be to go there and how fun to go there and the fact that if any one has any disabilities then The Deep is the best place to go.

Luqman Is the note taker he wanted to go to Alton Tower the same as Omair and did not explain why and how much the travel would cost or how we could get there.

Omair today seemed to be in some sort of a mood and at some points being silly he wanted to go too Alton Tower's same as Luqman and never explained why he wanted to go there.

We still have not chosen where we will go as Omair and Luqman won't explain why we should go to Alton towers not

Group meeting Three 06/3/2012

Our third meeting was held today on the 06/3

Today we where discussing where we will go as a group for trip we all where throwing in are ideas and points on where to go.

Luqman Ahmed is the minute taker while he was putting in his option on where we should go he was taking notes Luqman decided that Alton Tower's would be fun to go to but Chris Farrington the group leader decided that it would not be such a good idea as it would cost too much for a person and for the travel there he was determined to convince Chris Farrington that it would be a good idea so he said to Luqman to see how much it would be for a group pass to go as a group, turned out it would be still as expensive only saving £5 per person, but he needs to think about travel which we haven't talked about much.

Chris Connor wanted to go to The Deep which Chris Farrington liked the ideas of because it will be good to see some sea life and some fish.

Chris Farrington decided that it would be a good idea to see some animals and have a meal at the place we go as it will be a good idea and fun.

We still haven't decided where to go yet but we will hopefully figure this out in are next meetin on 15/3

Group meeting two 28/2/2012

Meeting two was held on 28/2/2012

Today for are meeting Chris the Team leader had to make sure that the group all had a job role within the group. We all started to discuss what the job roles where and what we would have to do if we had them after that we had to decided who gets what job within the group.

Chris the team leader put Chris Connor forward for the researcher as he suits this role as he is good at searching for a certain subject on the internet than some of the others with in the group,

Omair put himself forward to be the designer as he feels he would suit this job role as he is more artistic with drawing and designing a group logo etc but if we had too make a website for the group to promote anything then the team leader will have to jump in as he is better at using Dream Weaver than the other members of the group,

Luqman didn't know what he wanted to do with in the group so I described to him what the note taker was and what he had to do to be a note taker so I the team the leader put him forward for the job he suits the job more than any of us because his handwriting is a little better.

Ground discussion

Today we had to decide our groups name, Deciding our name was very tricky as we all had different ideas for the groups name a few where LSAA,PLC and The A-Team we rejected these LSAA and PLC as they sound like gang names and The A-Team well is copyright so.. after a few minutes for choosing from Creative Lads or Creative Few we decided to use Creative Few as it seems more appropriate as there is a few of us in the group.

 In our group there Is Christopher Connor, Omair and Luqman and me obviously. We have done all of our group rules and written them out.The group leader was picked last week and the leader is me.With today's discussion we all contributed names and ideas for the group I came up with Creative Few as Omair came up with the Creative Lads,Christopher wanted to use the name The A-Team which Lynn thought that it would be classed as copyright so we couldn't use that as all of us thought it would of been a good idea.

 Omair said we should call our self's The A1-Team which I said wouldn't be a good idea because it's exactly the say name with a number one added in so.. I had to as the leader of the group get a vote on the group name Creative Few and if it was suitable and every body said they don't mind it as the group name so the group name is now Creative Few.As for the group rules I decided that we all write up 10 or more rules on there computor and when we are all done we can compare our rules together then contibute the good ones into one list.

So with having all the rules written out on my computor and every ones work contributed into the Rules list.
