Review last weeks fundraiser

Last week we had our fund raiser these are what went well.

Good

•  Our table was well presented
• We sold alot of fruit
• Table was in a good location
• We made a good profit
• We also had a good variety of fruits
• All of us ccontributed well
• We had competition which made us work harder
• Respectful to every one around us and towards other members of the group
• All of the group was friendly while also cheerful we all had a good time
• When some one said no we would persuade them to buy our fruit
• We all world well within the group
• This was a good experience for all of us.

Now for the bad things that didn't go so well..

Bad

• We didn't buy enough fruit the first time
• We bought to many apples
• The bags we bought were to big
• The bags were also expensive

Todays group meeting eight was held on 24/04/2012
Todays meeting we started to finish of our posters and healthy living surveys and get a few signed.

Chris Farrington asked Omair to start the posters that allocated to him as he was off on the 17 and print of some more posters which he started but didn't finish them only managed to print of the surveys

At the group meeting seven Chris Farrington,Chris Connor and Luqmen Ahmed attended and the group leader Chris asked Luqman to do the surveys which he did an error on which we never noticed until we started handing out and some one crossed out are and put our there.

Chris Farrington created a poster about smoking,Drinking. drugs and solvent abuse. Also while walking around handing out the survey with Chris Connor and Luqmen they all put there effort in to handing out the surveys and getting they ticked of by random students and staff

Meeting with Marketing held on 27/3/2012

Today Chris Farrington the group leader went to go speak with marketing within the college about promoting our event for the begining of May.

Today Chris went to go meet Christina Jelic from the marketing department in college house building at 1:30 and they discussed about what they are promote which is healthy living and charity to get equipment for disabled people at the Otley sailing club. Chris started of by asking could he get a PowerPoint presentation up on the college plasma screens which he could so that will have to get finished soon so it can get upload and get displayed as soon as possible.

He asked can he put up A4 posters that he made around the college and where can he put them which they said any where there is a bulletin board and not to put them on windows or doors as they will be taken down and we won't be aloud to put any more up.

He also asked about using socail media ways like using Facebook and Twitter and newsletters or mass emails which was replied by they will post it on Facebook and Twitter for us and post it in the Staff news letter they can't do the mass emails as it goes to all the colleges in Leeds which we are only wanting to promote for Park Lane campus.

Also asked about leaflets and they said  that he would have to go to Student Liaison officer and they would help me to do that.

And while in the meeting they said that I could talk to the students reps and get them to promote it and hand out some leaflets maybe and some information about what I'm promoting and why I'm promoting.

Todays meeting we was missing half of our members, Omair Sajid and Chris Connor,

Today it was just Chris Farrington and Luqman Ahmed they was left to do main thing which we needed the group for. Today we had to chose where we would like to go for our end of year trip Luqman was still on the idea of Alton towers but as the team leader I had to explain that it would cost to much to go plus the travel costs aswell.

Chris Farrington still wanted to go to The Deep in Hull which is cheap and easy to travel. After some debating with Luqman I changed my mind to go to Otley sailing club which is free and we will only have to pay for the travel and donate half the money to the charity and the rest for a barbecue and we can get special food for Muslims and vegetarian's which will make it fair for every body that is there. Also created a consent form for the under 18's

Luqman Ahmed still wanted to go to Alton towers and he called a group meeting which there was only him and the team leader Chris Farrington and he tryed to fight his point accross why we should go to Alton towers but in the end it still costs to much to go they Chris convinced him to go to Otley sailing club which he liked the ideas of going on the boats and having a barbecue

I think the next course of action for the group next week shall be to get the Team Leader Chris Farrington to talk to the marketing within the college and the porters to see if we can book a slot and get a table placed within the lobby; Get Luqman Ahmed to finish the posters that we will post around the college and the top floor to advertise our Fruit fund raising event that will be happening on 17th April. Omair Sajid will be finishing his surveys to pass around with Chris Connor to see which fruits people like and which they don't and if they would buy some.

Today as a group we had to decide what we our going to for our fund raising.

Immediately as a group we where coming up with idea not the best idea some where about healthy living and some weren’t.
Chris Farrington the group leader decided that it would be a good to sell fruit in the college lobby and to the staff members and in the lobby have a teddy bear with the guess the name game; When the it's over the winner will win the teddy bear and a basket full of fruit. Chris also decided what day we will go and said he will talk to the porters and the marketing people

Luqmen Amhed was taking the notes for the group while also putting a few ideas in he had the idea of sell fruit cartons and some fruit which the group didn't like as it wasn't fresh he was on about like Fruit Juice not fresh juice. He also agreed to go with Chris Farrington's idea with the bear which was a good idea. Also Luqman made the posters with email and descriptions how to order some fruit.


Chris Connor decided to go with the idea with the guess the bears name as both Chris's decided this in there own time. Also Chris said he will join Chris in coming in early in the morning to talk to the porters with him.

Omair Sajid Was being quite silly today with his ideas he came out with some stupid ideas about selling some drugs like bud (weed) and crack cocaine which I told him was immature and silly but he goes it's the best way to make some money. He also said "We probably won't go on the trip so why not take some of the cash for our self’s" He came up with the idea of a dance event but none us can dance and to do a Sports relief day which it won't be on sports relief day.

Main point today is that we decided where we are going and what will do for fund raising
